We'd all like managing to be easy, but it usually isn't. A big reason for that is the average manager doesn't know how to manage. It's usually not their fault - they weren't taught or trained how to manage, probably just like you weren't. But what that means for their directs - who may now well be your directs - is that they don't know what good management looks like.
