Applicability of tools to volunteer organizations

Can anyone comment on the applicability of the tools to volunteer organizations? I'm particularly interested in a volunteer rescue organization which has a military-like structure.

I have been using MT for years in a church in San Francisco with hundreds of volunteers and have found lots of applicability. One on one's and coaching work particularly well. Feedback needs to be modified as does frequency of 1:1's but the principles work great.

Bottom line up front: Heck yea!
I've been using these tools ever since I started listening in 2006. I continually refer our newer managers and others to MT. It's not called Management tools Solely For The Business Sector.com It's called Manager-Tools.com. Management, IMHO, does not vary across the sectors. Only the mission and goals do.
