Hi Everyone,
I am doing a presentation soon and have only 6 slides in my deck - however I need to show some pictures (examples of posters and some computer screen shots) and this would add another 10 slides. My presentation is only 30 minutes long so I know this would take it over the MT limit of one slide per 5 minutes.
If I add in the extra slides will this take the focus of the presentation away from me and direct it to the slides too much?
But if I can't show these extra slides it will be very hard to explain what I mean in words.
I look forward to your thoughts.
Cheers,
Stuart.

I give a lot of talks, and the one slide per 5 minute rule is a great guideline but it will not work 100% of the time. Occasionally there will be circumstances where a picture or a screenshot truly is the focus of what you need to convey. I say put the screenshots in.

Will the additional slides add value and clarity to the presentation? If so, bend the rule.

I feel they add clarity - It is showing screen shots of an update to our system and it is quite a big change so it will be much clearer. And the other ones are drafts of posters for upcomming trials I am running - I think they need to see them.
The other thing I thought about was doing this in the prewire? So I could let them see it in advance. But should I show them again in the presentation?
Stuart.
